Rough guide for what to charge for domestic cleaning, UK?
I run an ironing service which is ticking along nicely but now have been asked by one of my regular customers if I’d clean her 3 bed house. Have a free day so have agreed and said I’d get back to her re pricing. Apparently the house needs a major clean first off and then would be regular normal clean weekly but when I hinted at £10 an hour she thought that was too cheap! How much is reasonable to charge? I don’t want to undersell or oversell myself but really don’t have a clue. Any ideas?
I have my own cleanning business now for thirty years,and 10.00 is not enough to charge an hour. I charge 20.00 an hour. The first time you are there be ready to spend the whole day and charge at least 100.00 for the first time beleive me, the first time is the worst. but after that you should be able to clean a tree bedroom house in about three to four hours.
