Wedding weekend bags for out of town guests?
For each of our guests, I’m planning to get a bag filled with the following:
bottled water
snacks (chips, granola bars,etc.)
homemade cookies
deck of personalized playing cards
vegas-wedding themed tic tacs
travel asprin
travel sunscreen
itinerary
maps/coupons
directions
Is there anything else I should include? Does this sound good? I’m on a budget. The wedding is in Vegas.
Also, for the welcome note, I was thinking of getting a postcard & just writing on the back of that since it doesn’t seem like anyone really sends postcards nowadays – just more of keepsakes. Or should I include a postcard and write a separate welcome note?
Also, I’m including a scratch-off lottery ticket.
i think it sounds pretty good as is. unlike another poster i think this is something more people should do when they have people coming from out of town. it doesn’t have to be expensive but really shows you care about your friends and family that are making an effort to attend. when we attended a cousin’s wedding this past year plane tickets, car rental and hotel for the 3 days was over $1000 for our family of 3. after a long day traveling to get there it was very nice to be welcomed by a wedding basket (it contained many of your items like homemade cookies, maps, area attractions, gatorade, etc). the food/drink things especially. it didn’t cost them an arm and a leg but really made a great impression.
they typed their welcome note and had the wedding schedule included also (rehearsal dinner, bridal lunch, etc). doing a quick welcome note on the postcard would be nice but depending on the number of out of town guests it could be exhausting handwriting them all.
