5 out of 5 stars Review of The A to Z of Georgian London   May 28, 2001

A marvelous reference source for any lover of 18th-century British culture and literature. Turn to the map on page 4 and trace Moll Flanders' path as she flees pursuit in the backstreets of London (and notice that she is circling Newgate Prison as she does so!) This book reproduces the survey of London done by John Roque (1739-1747). Originally the map was published in published in 24 large sheets that could be pieced together. This version faithfully reproduces all 24 sheets along with the original index. (If you like this one, there are more in the series.)
